Art History can be fun and exciting for kids. It is an adventure into the beautiful world of ancient civilizations, great cultures and famous artists. |

These classes are a new and insightful way to inspire creativity and individuality in children while teaching them about the history of Art.We will begin our journey with Prehistoric Art, and move to explore Ancient Civilizations like those of the Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, Mayans and the Romans.
We will also study different periods in Art such as the Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque movements. Art History classes will end with our look at Art in the 21st century.
Each Art History class begins with a short lecture followed by a related art project. The children's work, their subject matter, style and color choices are relate to those seen on example images from the lecture. They are encouraged to find the essence and style of the art movement and then create their own interpretive piece. In these projects the kids use different art techniques such as drawing, painting, collage and even sculpture.
